StandBy is Australia’s leading postvention program dedicated to the assisting people and communities impacted by suicide.
StandBy is accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week, providing free face-to face and/or telephone support at a time and place that is best for each individual.
The StandBy program is focused on supporting anyone who has been bereaved or impacted by suicide at any stage in their life, including:

What is the cost?
StandBy is a free to service to anyone bereaved or impacted by suicide.
Do you provide individual and group support?
Yes, StandBy provides support individually and in group settings tailored to your needs.
Do you provide free training and development for workplaces and community?
Yes, StandBy provides a range of locally tailored community workshops and educational programs to increase awareness of suicide and suicide bereavement to help communities to support one another.
Do I need a referral to access your service?
No, anyone bereaved by suicide can access our support without any referrals.
What type of support do you provide?
We provide free face-to-face and/or telephone support for up to two years. The program offers coordinated, evidence-based support and resources (including connections to local services and groups) that is individualised for each person’s unique circumstance.
Where do you provide support?
StandBy is run in every state and territory of Australia. StandBy provides support right across Tasmania, at your home or or at a location best suited to the person requiring support at a time that suits you.
